Federalism
is one of the basic features of the Indian Constitution,
but the tendency of the Centre to encroach on the domain
of the states has intensified to such an extent under
the Hindutva forces and the corporate-financial oligarchy,
that the country is being pushed towards a de facto
unitary State.
