To
improve agricultural productivity and farmer income,
the Swaminathan Commission, set up during the UPA
regime, proposed comprehensive and detailed reforms.
But the BJP has not only omitted these reforms but
also worsened famer conditions through policies that
have destroyed rural markets and increased cultivation
costs.
