An Unacceptable Violation of Rights*

The
lockdown has disrupted the livelihoods of many people
in India, but compensations have not been announced
till date. The payment made to private sector employees
from public budgets is simply a recognition of the rights
of individuals within a capitalist democracy, where
the poor have no de facto rights.
